PROGRAM INTRODUCTION

Dear Colleagues,

You are welcome to the first PACaTS summit 2025 in Accra which will offer lectures by renowned experts in surgery and interventional procedures of complex Congenital Heart, Inflamatory and Degenerative Structural Heart Disease, Chest Trauma, Mediastinal and Lung Cancer. These lectures will cover Advanced Diagnostics, Treatment Options and Recovery, as well as Impact of Humanitarian Heart Surgery Programms in Africa, One session will hightlight on the benefits and life saving benefits of artificial intelligence in cardiovascular medicine.

The summit is a platform to share cutting-edge knowledge that is crucial for cardiothoracic and vascular clinical practice and research with the ultimate goal of improving patient care in Africa.

Simulation camps for Hands- On Experience in Valve Repair and CABG Surgery will be provided to a limited number of practicing surgerons to improve their surgical skills.
Participants have the opportunity to present their own research, connect with each other to develop a network and strengthen collaborations.

The summit provides specialized tracts for Cardiac Anesthesiology and Critical Care Management, Cardiovascular Intensive Care Nursing and future cardiothoracic surgeons of Africa.

PACaTS Summit Sessions: What?

PLENARY SESSIONS highlight challenging surgical and interventional topics in congenital and acquired structural heart disease with experts in the field.

HUMANITARIAN MISSIONS IN AFRICA & THEIR IMPACT: International charity

heart teams supported by philanthropic organizations have responded to the emergency calls to provide cardiac surgery in Africa, advancing congenital and rheumatic heart surgery services to underserved pediatric population.

CARDIOVASCULAR RESEARCH WORKSHOP offers a platform for sharing the latest research and collaboration in projects that can improve cardiovascular surgery services

ABSTRACT PRESENTATIONS: Top scientific original abstracts will be accepted for podium presentation and award.

AFRO-SIMULATION CAMPS: Renowned experts will provide master class hands- on courses on valve repairs, aortic root surgery and CABG surgery with tips and

tricks to inspire and upskill the practicing surgeons with the ultimate goal of improving patient care in Africa.

BREAKOUT WORKSHOPS will provide insights and best practices in cardiac anesthesiology and critical care management, cardiovascular intensive care nursing, perfusion technology and cardiothoracic training in Africa.

NETWORKING: The summit will provide opportunities for meeting legends and senior experts in cardiothoracic surgery who will share their invaluable experiences and knowledge with you. The platform connects you with international cardiothoracic community for networking, future collaboration, career building and development.
